The Revised Uniform Limited Liability Company Act, which went into effect in 2013, permits LLCs to file a Statement of Authority with the State. This statement gives one or more people the authority to sign contracts or other documents on behalf of the LLC in business dealings, including real estate transactions. The statement also establishes any limits on this person’s authority.
