Two Rivers Title Company, LLC Expands Title Search Department with Industry Icon

We are pleased to announce that Adam Moskowitz has joined the Two Rivers Title team as a Senior Title Examiner and Abstractor. Adam comes to Two Rivers with a lifetime of experience in, and as many stories about, the Title industry and the business of searching.

If you ask him, Adam began his career at age 15 when he began helping his mom who was also in the industry. For the next 40+ years Adam perfected his craft sewing back together pieces of history by tracing land possession and ownership rights up and down the Eastern seaboard. He worked for various companies searching, reading, and examining title. He admits the searching is his “real love.”

Listening to Adam is akin to talking to a local historian. He regales anyone listening with stories of land pirates, and often refers to “the original 13 colonies” when speaking about what most of know as the Northeastern seaboard.

Two things that are clear as soon as you begin talking to Adam about his work. He loves what he does, and he is uniquely talented at it. While he has been involved in many cases throughout his career, Adam highlighted two well-known title disputes that he helped resolve.

On one occasion, Adam was asked to research the ownership lineage for Fisherman’s Cove in Monmouth County, NJ. Through 4 years of searching state and local records, maps, and significant transactions, Adam uncovered that the American Timber Company owned the property and not the board of proprietors who had been claiming ownership. During his research Adam practically had to rebuild the entire Monmouth County coastline to clearly understand and track the ownership transfers as they happened.

During another case, Adam brought the chain of title for Raccoon Island, located in Monmouth County near Monmouth Beach and Shrewsbury Island, all the way forward from its founding in the mid 1600’s. His skills and pure tenacity rendered a positive judgment for his client.

Adam brings much more than an impressive track record to Two Rivers Title. He brings decades of experience and a creativity to a role that has become a lost “art”. While today’s searchers are well trained in how to search the available digital files, they tend to be lacking in how to approach a title that hits a technological dead end. If a title searcher fails to trace title far enough back or is unable to uncover ownership lines that aren’t readily available, the title can remain in question and the homeowner is exposed to unnecessary risk. This is where Adam’s skills, passion, and pure tenacity come in.
